“ Not the best start at this beautiful Italian-themed restaurant, but the servers worked it out in the end. My friend and I decided to stop in for a light dinner after a day of travel/sightseeing. There was a bit of a wait, which seems to be the norm and we were told to return in an hour or so. When we did, we were pleased to find a table ready for us out on the patio. The restaurant itself really is gorgeous. It has a great feeling of antique class. My friend ordered a cup of minestrone and I ordered the fetticcini alfredo. The soup was delicious as was the alfredo. The pasta was just past al dente but the sauce was superb. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service was a bit disjointed. We had the wrong order brought out to us and my friend had to wait upwards of 30 minutes before someone finally brought out his soup. Additionally, the pasta didn't taste freshly made, which would be expected of an Italian restaurant at this price point. Those slip ups aside, we'd definitely be back. It's a nice destination with good food. Like many stops on Catalina Island, however, it'll be a bit pricey. 4 stars. ”
“ This is one of the nicest restaurants in Catalina island. Good for a little romantic date night. We came to the island a few times now and we tried this one this time and the food is so good. They don't give you water though they only sell bottled water because of the "drought" yet other restaurants GIVE you water so that's my reason for 4 stars. It's a nice place to try out but more on the pricey side so if you're having s nice or special occasion little dinner this place is great. ”
“ The food exceeded expectations. Standouts were the blackened swordfish- juicy, flavorful and the chicken marsala. Convenient location, friendly efficient service, grab a patio seat and enjoy the water views and people watching. ”
“ So glad a local got to share this Island secret with me! The Frutti de Mare is what I ordered and was not disappointed! I went for my dinner birthday with one other guest and was treated amazingly well! The waitress gave me a celebratory tiara, served me one of their best bottles of wine, and was super sweet and attentive the entire time! I enjoyed the hospitality and couldn't be felt more at home. The ambiance is very classy italian-restaurant-like if you get what I mean. The lights are dim and there is a beautiful window table that's apparently always reserved by the city manager (which happened to eat there that night lol). The is bread at the table along with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Can't beat this place, it's worth every penny! ”
“ Really good food, the soup was delicious, the fish and pasta was average. The Caesar salad no joke was probably the best tasting caesar salad I had in my life. I ordered a the blackened chicken pasta it was good but it was super salty. The service was good but towards the end it declined and the server got really busy and didn't come around for a while when we needed her. This place is located next to the Villa Portofino hotel. Probably one of the most decent places to eat at when dining in Catalina. I would go back for sure and recommend this spot. ”
“ I've never quiet said this about many cities but Catalina Island Food generally sucks . Only two spots were worthy of calling themselves restaurants . This restaurant was definitely one of them. The service was great, the staff was friendly. Our last evening in Catalina we were walking around in much desire for a dessert. It was a Sunday night when most spots close early. The staff, waiter, and host graciously welcomed us and accommodated our sweet tooth. My only regret is NOT trying their food , however the glance I was able to see on the plates looked delicious...something you'd see on on Food and Wine Magazine but with more generous portions. Highly recommend . Oh and try the desserts. They are authentic! The Moscato and Raspberry Sorbet combination are divine !!! ”
“ This is one of those fancy, schmancy restaurants with cloth napkins, multiple forks, and extensive wine lists. The food is undoubtedly superior quality...definitely kicks The Olive Garden's ass. I highly recommend the cannelloni. It took forever to order because just about everything on the menu looked enticing! Paired with a sweet pink zinfandel, suggested by our waitress (who also happened to be our horseback-riding guide that day), and a couple of cannolis for dessert, our dinner was truly unforgettable =). ”
